Beau Ryan Hints at Footy Show Comeback

Beau Ryan, a former NRL player and current media figure, has hinted that a reunion-style Footy Show might be in the works.

This popular program aired for 25 years from 1994 to 2018 on the Nine Network before being canceled due to declining ratings.

Paul Vautin was the show's host for 24 of those years, and it was discontinued in 2018 when Thursday Night Footy became a regular feature, which transformed the show into a one-hour news segment following the match.

In earlier years, the Footy Show had a more entertainment-focused format, where Ryan played an integral role during his time with the Wests Tigers and the Cronulla Sharks.

Currently, Ryan contributes to Triple M Radio during the breakfast slot and believes there is potential for the show's return, albeit not in a full-time format.

"I feel like there is a market for it, but the thing about that is you have to leave them [the public] wanting more," Ryan stated on air.

He further explained, "If you do it every week, it would need to be more like an entertainment show, rather than a footy show."
