Billy Moore, a North Sydney Bears legend, has resigned from his position on the club's board as they prepare for their re-entry into the NRL as the Perth Bears.
This new Perth-based bid, planned to be the NRL's 18th team by 2027, has announced Mal Meninga as their inaugural head coach.
The club will begin signing players on November 1, 2023, and will maintain a close relationship with the Sydney Bears, including hosting several games at North Sydney Oval.
Moore, who joined the board in 2020 and was instrumental in guiding the club back to the NRL, decided to step down to concentrate on his personal business and media ventures.
In a club statement, he expressed, "It is with great sadness, but also excitement, that I've stood down off the Board."
