Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Maroons assistant coach Matt Ballin has decided on his coaching future after being courted by two rival clubs.

Ballin, a former dummy-half for the Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers, showcased his talent in 220 matches over 11 seasons. He is considered one of the most promising assistant coaches in the league.

His impressive background includes work with the Queensland State of Origin team under Billy Slater, and he has even been mentioned as a potential successor to Slater if the Storm's fullback transitions to a head coaching role in the NRL.

Despite interest from the Gold Coast Titans and North Queensland Cowboys, which was reported earlier, Ballin has chosen to remain with the Broncos by signing a new contract, according to The Courier-Mail.

"I've got a great team of players and coaches here," Maguire stated. "It's a team effort and I've been fortunate to have several experienced assistants working together with a great group of young men."

Family considerations played a key role in Ballin's decision to continue at the Broncos, particularly as he and his wife expect their first child.
