Aussies courting Warrior forward after season setback

The New Zealand Warriors may have had a tough season, but one of their forwards is making waves down under.

Bunty Afoa, who first hit the field with the Warriors in 2016, has been a stalwart in the forward pack, clocking over 20 matches in five straight seasons from 2018 to 2023.

However, the 28-year-old's playing time dwindled this season, and he often found himself warming the bench in the NSW Cup, passed over for younger up-and-comers like Leka Halasimi.

Despite being under contract until the end of next season, Afoa's future with the club looks uncertain.

Come November 1st, Afoa will be free to explore options with other teams, and it seems that several Australian clubs in the NRL have taken notice of his potential.

Looks like Afoa might be packing his bags for greener pastures sooner than expected.
