The influx of Australian players into the Super League persists as another off-season progresses, with a young forward and halfback securing contracts with a UK franchise.

Among those departing The Dolphins after 2025 is Ryan Jackson, a forward who has opted to transition from Queensland to the UK by signing with the York Knights for the upcoming 2026 Super League season.

The 21-year-old made an impact in the 2025 Queensland Cup, scoring three tries in 14 appearances for the Central Queensland Capras. Although he was part of the Dolphins' NRL system, he did not make his debut in the top grade.

Throughout 20 matches, Jackson accumulated 164 points, provided 12 try assists, and made nine line-break assists, showcasing his kicking prowess by forcing nine drop-outs.

"With the club heading into Super League, it's a chance to be a part of history and a part of something special," Jackson remarked.

He expressed enthusiasm for the camaraderie that comes with the move, stating, "What I'm looking forward to the most is the mateship. Being far away from home and enjoying footy with good mates is something special."

Jackson joins a growing list of NRL players, including Toby Sexton, Blake Taaffe, and Chris Patolo, who are making the transition to the Super League.
