The NRL landscape saw significant coaching changes in 2025, particularly with the dismissals of Des Hasler and Adam O'Brien from their positions at their respective clubs.
Currently, it appears that no further coaching changes are imminent. However, Hull KR's head coach, Willie Peters, has expressed interest in a future role within the NRL, stating that it is "something I want to do." He emphasized that he will not hurry the process of making a transition.
Having recently led Hull KR to an impressive Super League treble and appointed as an assistant to Kevin Walters for the impending Ashes series, Peters remains committed to his contract in the UK, which runs through 2028.
"I've got it in my goals to coach in the NRL, but one thing I've learnt is not to think too far ahead," Peters mentioned in an interview with SEN Radio.
The 46-year-old, who formerly played for South Sydney and St George Illawarra, has significantly improved Hull KR's performance since taking over in 2022, guiding the team to three consecutive finals appearances and clinching this year's championship.
Despite being linked to various NRL coaching vacancies this season, including that of the Newcastle Knights, Peters chose to decline interviews in order to maintain his focus on Hull KR's playoff pursuit.
