Following the release of Nelson Asofa-Solomona from the Melbourne Storm last week, discussions regarding his next career move have intensified.
While no specific NRL team has stood out as a likely destination for the prominent prop, there are indications that he may consider switching to another sport.
Now a free agent, Asofa-Solomona is keeping an open mind about his future after the opportunity to leave the NRL champion team.
The 29-year-old received permission to exit the last two years of his contract to "explore new opportunities," which has led to speculation about a potential shift in codes.
He has been associated with the rebel R360 rugby competition, and clubs in Japan have also allegedly shown interest, as reported by Fox Sports.
Despite the interest, the impressive Kiwi player maintains that he has not yet made any decisions.
"I'm pretty blessed to have some options," Asofa-Solomona stated in an interview with Newstalk ZB.
