ARLC Chairman calls rugby union 'boring', targets NRL players

The head honcho of the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC), Peter V'landys, has once again taken a swing at Rugby Australia, slamming the seemingly lackluster game time in rugby union as rumors swirl about NRL stars being courted for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

As reported by zerotackle.com, V'landys scoffed at the idea of rugby union pulling players away from the NRL, throwing shade at the rival code's playing style and entertainment value.

"I'm not worried at all.

When you tune in to watch rugby league, you're guaranteed 57-60 minutes of non-stop action," he quipped on Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Tarsh, and Woodsy.

"When you sit down to watch union, it feels like you only get about 30 minutes of actual game time.

"So any NRL player thinking about crossing over to rugby union might as well bring their phone to the sidelines, because they'll have plenty of time for social media."

With a sly grin and a twinkle in his eye, V'landys made it clear that in the battle for rugby supremacy, Rugby League stands tall and proud, offering fans a fast-paced, high-octane sporting experience that simply can't be matched by their union counterparts.
