Tamika Upton, who had an outstanding season, has been selected to make her international debut in the 2023 Pacific Championships.

The Harvey Norman Jillaroos coach, Brad Donald, has named Upton as part of a 21-player squad for the upcoming tournament.

Upton's inclusion comes after her impressive performance in helping Newcastle secure back-to-back NRLW premierships, where she was also awarded the Karyn Murphy Medal.

She is joined by two other new faces in the Jillaroos squad, Emma Manzelmann and Jess Elliston, who were part of the successful World Cup campaign last November.

The squad also includes Yasmin Clydsdale and Caitlan Johnston, who were instrumental in the Knights' Grand Final victory.

Furthermore, five players from the Titans, who were the runners-up, have also been selected.

Shaylee Bent, Lauren Brown, Jaime Chapman, Shannon Mato, and Evania Pelite will join Elliston in the extended squad.

It is worth noting that this squad represents nine out of the ten NRLW clubs, as the competition expanded this year.

Tamika Upton's selection for the Pacific Championships is a testament to her exceptional season and the recognition of her skills on the rugby league field.

As she prepares to make her international debut, fans eagerly await her contributions to the Jillaroos' campaign in the upcoming tournament.
