Another NRL Star Linked to Rugby Union Switch
The St George Illawarra Dragons are facing potential challenges from the emerging Rugby 360 competition.
Reports from zerotackle.com indicate that players like Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Kalyn Ponga, and Ryan Papenhuyzen are on the radar for recruitment.
Tuivasa-Sheck has publicly expressed interest in returning to rugby union, mentioning that the new Saudi Arabian funded league could offer players up to $2 million annually for their commitment.
This global initiative will include a draft system where players are auctioned off to teams.
Furthermore, News Corp recently disclosed that Dragons' edge forward Jaydn Su'A is also being targeted by this rebel competition.
Scheduled to launch in 2027, the league could attract Su'A, who is currently under contract until the end of 2026 and has a player option for the following year, allowing him the potential to leave before that.
