Despite ending their season last week, the Canterbury Bulldogs remain a prominent topic of discussion in the NRL, particularly concerning their halfback situation.
Amid rumors of a possible switch to Mitchell Woods for the halfback position in 2026, NRL icon Braith Anasta has expressed his views on the team's current halfback lineup as they look towards next year.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph's David Riccio, Anasta openly shared his dissatisfaction regarding the Bulldogs' current halves arrangement.
"I don't think Mitch Woods starts [in] Round 1," Riccio remarked to Anasta during an episode of NRL 360.
"Put it that way, I think Matt Burton starts in the halves."
In response, Anasta pressed Riccio for clarity on who would fill the halfback role. "And who's halfback?" Anasta inquired.
