Commuters in Sydney are set to face disruptions on more than 20 train lines due to a weekend of high-profile sporting events.

The NRL and NRLW Grand Finals, as well as the Koori Knockout near Tuggerah, will be taking place over the holiday weekend.

As a result, all of Sydney's numbered train lines, T1-T9, will be affected by the dual Grand Finals, starting on Sunday afternoon.

To accommodate the influx of fans heading to the games, express trains will be running regularly from Central Station in Surry Hills to Olympic Park, with stops at Redfern and Strathfield en route.

For those in the city's west, there will also be regular trains to Lidcombe, where commuters can transfer to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park station.

After the matches, trains will continue to run from Olympic Park to Central until late in the evening.

Additionally, limited stop services will be available between Western Line stations and Olympic Park to ensure fans can make their way home from the games.

These disruptions are expected to impact a large number of commuters, especially those traveling on the affected train lines.

It is advisable for passengers to plan their journeys in advance and allow for extra travel time to avoid any inconvenience.
