Affiliate Teams Struggle, Glebe Slips, Ipswich Outclassed

Affiliate Wrap: Tough Round Across the Board

Roosters.com.au has provided a rundown of the weekend's rugby league action for the Club's affiliate teams, and it's fair to say it was a tough round right across the board.

The Glebe Dirty Reds had a rough outing in the wet conditions, with both their Ron Massey and Sydney Shield sides coming away with defeats.

The Massey boys went down to St Marys with a score of 34-18, while the Shield side couldn't overcome Cabramatta, losing 36-12.

The Dirty Reds started strong, with a try from Daniel Arahu putting them ahead 6-0 after 18 minutes.

But things took a turn when fullback Jade Anderson found himself sin-binned after a bit of a dust-up on the field.

St Marys took full advantage of the extra man, scoring three tries while Anderson was off.

Despite this setback, Glebe managed to keep the score close, trailing 16-6 at halftime.

Unfortunately, things didn't improve in the second half, and the Dirty Reds couldn't claw their way back into the game.

Meanwhile, the Silktails had a valiant effort to make a comeback, but fell short, and Ipswich found themselves outclassed on the field.

In rugby league, as in life, there are tough rounds and challenges to overcome.

But the affiliate teams will regroup, learn from their mistakes, and come back stronger in the next round.

As they say in the game of rugby league, it's not how you start, but how you finish that counts.
