Addo-Carr out to inspire as Indigenous representation grows

Kangaroos winger Josh Addo-Carr aims to inspire future generations of Indigenous footballers through his return to the Australian side.

Just a year back, he faced unemployment after being let go by the Bulldogs, but the Parramatta Eels offered him a second chance in his career.

Taking full advantage of this opportunity, Addo-Carr secured his first Kangaroos selection since the 2022 World Cup.

At 30 years old, he is among six Indigenous players in the squad for the historic Ashes series and is committed to motivating aspiring First Nations talent.

The NRL is also deeply involved in First Nations communities, implementing numerous programs designed to enhance social outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Addo-Carr has embraced the chance to showcase his Indigenous culture within an Australian team that includes a wide range of players.

Countries such as Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Italy, Lebanon, and Ukraine are represented by the Kangaroos during the Ashes series.
