In a stunning development reminiscent of a classic comeback story on the field, the Brisbane Broncos have been handed a game-changing boost as they strive to secure a spot in the NRL finals.

Adam Reynolds, who has been out of action since Round 9 due to a bicep injury, is set to make a surprise return against the Knights this weekend, much earlier than anticipated.

The news has sent shockwaves through the rugby league world, with Broncos fans eagerly awaiting Reynolds' return to the field.

Assistant coach Matt Ballin initially downplayed Reynolds' inclusion in the reserves, suggesting it was merely to fill up the spots.

However, it now appears that Reynolds will indeed take the field on Saturday, likely in the pivotal halfback position.

In addition to Reynolds, star players Reece Walsh, Patrick Carrigan, and Payne Haas are all expected to back up after their State of Origin duties.

The only player not returning from Origin action is Selwyn Cobbo.

Walsh and Carrigan were part of the Maroons side that suffered a tough loss to NSW in a fierce Game 3 decider at Suncorp Stadium.

The intensity of the match has resulted in numerous players being ruled out for their clubs this weekend, showcasing the physical toll of the fierce rivalry between the two states.

In further blows to other teams, Mitchell Moses has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a bicep injury for the Eels, while Panthers' Dylan Edwards could be sidelined for a month due to a knee injury.

Additionally, Cameron Murray and Haumole Olakau'atu have received two-game bans for their involvement in a scuffle during a recent game.

With a number of players in doubt for round 20, the upcoming NRL games promise to be filled with drama and suspense.
