After a whopping 270 matches, 14 State of Origin appearances, and 17 Tests for the Australian Kangaroos, Aaron Woods has decided to hang up his boots and retire from the NRL.
The folks at zerotackle.com have confirmed the news.
Making the announcement on Triple M's The Rush Hour Sydney, Woods expressed, "After 14 long years in the first-grade rugby league, I'll be calling it quits at the end of the year."
Throughout his career, Woods has been a journeyman, playing for the Wests Tigers, Canterbury Bulldogs, Cronulla Sharks, St George Illawarra Dragons, and Manly Sea Eagles.
Reflecting on his time in the game, he added, "I'll be retiring at the end of the season once the Manly Sea Eagles bow out.
I'm still hitting the training paddock, lending a hand and getting the lads prepped."
"I reckon my last game was probably over the weekend for the Blacktown Workers (Sea Eagles).
Had the whole clan and mates there, kept it hush-hush," Woods revealed with a touch of nostalgia.
In true sporting fashion, Aaron Woods leaves a legacy that will be remembered in the annals of NRL history.
