The Melbourne Storm have given fans a reason to cheer as they provide an injury update on a whopping SEVEN players ahead of their final pre-season showdown against the North Queensland Cowboys.
With a number of key players missing from the Cowboys game, concerns were raised among fans.
However, the Storm have now assured supporters that their star players are on track to be fit and firing for their season opener against the Parramatta Eels in two weeks' time.
Xavier Coates and Jahrome Hughes were the notable absentees from the trial match, but Storm official Frank Ponissi has confirmed that both players are expected to be ready for Round 1.
"Xavier is progressing really well.
He's not back training with the team just yet, but he's been putting in the hard yards with the rehab staff," Ponissi said.
"We have every confidence that he'll be raring to go and take the field in Round 1 against Parramatta."
It looks like the Storm will be back at full strength just in time for the season to kick off.
Storm fans will be hoping their team can weather any storms that come their way and come out on top in their first match of the season.
Let's hope they can hit the ground running and make a strong start to their campaign, showing the rest of the competition that they mean business from the get-go.
