The NRL Grand Final is expected to take place on a hot and dry day, with virtually no chance of rain. The highly anticipated match, featuring the Melbourne Storm against the Brisbane Broncos, will kick off at 7:30pm (AEST) on Sunday, October 5, and the weather forecast indicates perfect conditions.
Following a week of dry weather that has prepared the ground at Homebush, where a sold-out crowd is anticipated, the forecast for the grand final is sunny and warm.
As reported at 6pm (AEST) on Saturday, October 4, the Bureau of Meteorology predicts a temperature of 31 degrees for Sydney Olympic Park, with a minimal five percent chance of rain and light winds.
"Mostly sunny. The chance of fog in the early morning, mainly in the west. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h, tending west to northwesterly in the early afternoon, then becoming light in the evening," the Bureau states.
The expected maximum temperature of 31 degrees will remain steady from 3pm until 5pm, coinciding with the first day of daylight savings, before the temperature begins to drop.
It's likely that players in the earlier State Championship and NRLW games may require additional drinks breaks due to the heat. However, by the time the men's match starts, the temperature is forecasted to decrease to 27 degrees, eventually cooling to a maximum of 24 degrees by full time.
