After 14 Tests for Australia, five for Wales, three for Tonga, and 16 appearances for the NSW Blues, seasoned Kangaroo Tyson Frizell has dropped a bombshell decision on his representative career as he ventures into the twilight of his playing days.
The Newcastle Knights back-rower has decided to hang up his rep footy boots and shift his entire focus to club-land with the Knights.
Despite this surprising announcement, Frizell still has two more seasons left on his Knights contract, with a mutual option for 2026, ensuring he will continue to battle it out in the NRL arena.
This unexpected move comes on the heels of his recent stints with the NSW Blues and Tonga last year, as well as rumors swirling about a potential return to the Blues squad this year.
However, the talented back-rower was ultimately left out in favor of other emerging stars like Cameron McInness, Hudson Young, Spencer Leniu, and Haumole Olakau'atu.
"I reckon I've pulled the pin on all my rep footy for now," Frizell declared through The Newcastle Herald, making it clear that his focus is now firmly on the Knights.
