The Melbourne Storm have locked in rugby union star Moses Leo for an early shift, with the Kiwi recruit set to join the club sooner than expected.

The Storm, notorious for their ability to lure top talent, confirmed that Leo has been granted a release from New Zealand rugby, where he had been making waves in the sevens team.

Leo, who had already inked a two-year deal with the Storm starting in 2026, will now don the purple jersey a year ahead of schedule.

This move extends his contract to a three-year stint, keeping him with the Victorian-based club until at least the end of 2027.

"We can't wait to have Moses hit the ground running in preseason this year.

Huge shoutout to New Zealand Rugby for making this happen," said Storm Director of Football, Frank Ponissi, in a statement.

The 27-year-old, a former player for North Harbour in the New Zealand rugby union scene, has made a name for himself in the sevens arena.

With 82 appearances under his belt, including appearances at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games, Leo is set to bring his skill and experience to the Storm's lineup.

Get ready, Storm fans, because this Kiwi dynamo is about to shake up the field with his speed and agility.
