Stadium plea denied, Sharks' final in Western Sydney

The Cronulla Sharks have missed out on the chance to host next weekend's semi-final showdown against the North Queensland Cowboys at Shark Park.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, the Sharks' plea to keep the game on their home turf fell short.

In the world of NRL, teams are granted the opportunity to play at their own Sydney venues during the first week of finals, before being whisked away to larger stadiums in Week 2.

The Penrith Panthers took full advantage of this privilege by hosting a triumphant qualifying final against the Sydney Roosters in the majestic foothills.

It looks like the Panthers will continue to flex their hosting muscles at Accor Stadium in a fortnight, the same hallowed ground that will eventually crown this year's grand final champions.

Meanwhile, the Sharks had a taste of home advantage last year during an elimination final clash with the Roosters.

However, due to construction woes at their stadium, the limited seating sparked a firestorm of controversy over hosting rights.

Now, the Sharks are gearing up to tackle the Cowboys on unfamiliar territory, as they prepare to hit the Western Sydney field for the upcoming showdown.

It's a tough break for the Sharks, but in the game of Rugby League, adaptability is key - and the Sharks are ready to rise to the challenge and make their mark in the heat of the battle.
