Brandon Smith, the gritty Sydney Roosters dummy half, has put the kibosh on any rumors of jumping ship to the North Queensland Cowboys come 2026.
Currently sidelined with an ACL injury, Smith's performance has fallen short of expectations in his first two years donning the tri-colours.
The New Zealand international is off-contract at the conclusion of the 2025 season and has been in talks since November 1.
While he has expressed interest in staying with the Roosters, it appears increasingly unlikely as the tri-colours have been eyeing North Queensland Cowboys hooker Reece Robson.
The Cowboys are eager to hold onto Robson, but the Roosters' allure and potential relocation back to Sydney could sway the New South Wales State of Origin rake's decision.
Smith remains focused on recovering and proving his worth as negotiations continue behind the scenes.
