The Sydney Roosters suffered a diabolical loss to the Broncos and fans are now questioning the team's retention and recruitment decisions after letting go of Terrell May and Sitili Tupouniua.

May is now at the Wests Tigers, playing a crucial role in their narrow loss to Newcastle, while Tupouniua scored a stunning double for the Bulldogs in their win against the Dragons.

The Roosters lost over 1000 games of NRL experience in the off-season, with key players like Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Luke Keary, Joey Manu, and Joseph Suaalii leaving for other teams or codes.

The team acquired Mark Nawaqanitawase and veteran halfback Chad Townsend in return, but injuries and suspensions have left them in a difficult position.

With Sam Walker and Brandon Smith sidelined, and Victor Radley and Nat Butcher facing issues as well, the Roosters are struggling early in the season.

The decision to part ways with May and Tupouniua is now being questioned, as both players showcased their talent in their new clubs over the weekend.

Had they stayed with the Roosters, they would have likely been starters in the current squad.

However, the team now finds themselves in a challenging situation, with fans and pundits criticizing the choices made in the off-season.
