Penrith Panthers to be without key duo in battle against Roosters

In a blow to the Panthers, star player Nathan Cleary has been sidelined for up to a month due to a hamstring injury.

Reports from zerotackle.com have confirmed that the club's co-captain had to leave the field during the intense showdown against the Brisbane Broncos last week.

Initially, it was thought that Cleary was just taking an early rest after helping Penrith dominate the Broncos in a showdown between last year's grand finalists.

However, it turns out there is more to the story, as Cleary will be sitting out this weekend's crucial match against the Sydney Roosters.

Depending on his recovery in the following weeks, he could potentially miss a few more games.

The talented halfback, who also plays for the New South Wales Blues in State of Origin, will most likely be replaced by Brad Schneider this weekend.

Schneider, a former Canberra Raider, will be making his club debut for the Panthers as they prepare to face off against their tough opponents.
