In a thrilling clash set to determine who will advance to the preliminary final, 2022 Dally M medallist and NSW Blues rep, Nicho Hynes, is gearing up to lead the Cronulla Sharks in their quest for premiership glory.

Standing in their way are none other than Hynes' former teammates, including Daniel Atkinson, as they prepare to face off against each other this Saturday.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, once a comrade of Hynes and Atkinson, is itching for the battle at AAMI Park, particularly after the Sharks emerged victorious in their last showdown at the venue.

With a spot in the preliminary final up for grabs, Papenhuyzen is adamant that once they step onto the field, camaraderie will take a backseat to fierce competition.

"There's no room for sentimentality when you're up against your old mates like Nicho and Atko," Papenhuyzen declared ahead of the highly-anticipated match.

The stage is set for an epic clash filled with tense moments and high stakes, as these former teammates turn into fierce rivals in pursuit of Rugby League glory.
