James Tedesco, the standout fullback for the Roosters, is bracing himself for some shake-ups under the new leadership of coach Michael Maguire as the Blues gear up for the upcoming Origin series.

The NSW skipper, who has steered his team through 11 consecutive Origin games, acknowledges that Maguire will likely implement some changes in response to the recent series defeats.

Despite his impressive track record, Tedesco is aware that his position is not guaranteed, especially with Panthers' Dylan Edwards knocking on the door with his consistent performance over the past few years.

While his form was scrutinized by critics last season, Tedesco has come back stronger in 2024, propelling his team to the top of the points table after 11 rounds.

It would come as a shock if Tedesco is left out of the squad for the series opener, given his undeniable impact on the field and his reputation as one of the greatest Origin players for the state.

"I'm sure there will be changes.

We've suffered defeats in the last two years, so it's only natural that adjustments need to be made.

We'll just have to wait and see," Tedesco remarked.

As players and fans alike anticipate the squad announcement next week, Tedesco emphasizes the importance of backing whoever Maguire decides to include.

"It's all about giving your best for your club and letting Madge make the tough decisions.

We'll support whoever gets picked, as we stand united behind the state," Tedesco added.
