Double trouble for Roosters ahead of NRL finals

Brandon Smith and Sam Walker, two key players for the Sydney Roosters, have been dealt a devastating blow less than a fortnight before the kick-off of the 2024 NRL Finals.

The Roosters, known for their resilience and fighting spirit, are now faced with a major challenge due to these injuries.

During a clash with the Canberra Raiders on Sunday, Brandon Smith was forced off the field within 12 minutes of play, raising concerns about a potential serious knee injury.

These fears were sadly confirmed by the club on Monday, revealing that Smith has suffered a left ACL rupture without any contact from an opponent.

This setback not only rules him out for the rest of the current season, including the crucial finals matches, but also sidelines him until April or May next year.

The Roosters, a team steeped in Rugby League history and tradition, will sorely miss Smith's presence on the field.

Meanwhile, Sam Walker, the talented halfback with a knack for creating magic on the pitch, will also be undergoing reconstructive surgery this week for his knee.

The Roosters, known for their never-say-die attitude, will need to dig deep and rally together to overcome these setbacks and continue their pursuit for glory in the fierce NRL competition.

The road ahead may be tough, but with their fighting spirit and determination, the Roosters will rise to the challenge and give it their all on the field.
