Former Dally M Medallist Todd Carney is gearing up for the NRL Vegas Nines tournament, alongside a couple of other former NRL players.

Set to take the field on Saturday (AEDT time), Carney will be joined by Papua New Guinea international Kyle Laybutt and former Gold Coast Titans and Parramatta Eels forward Cody Nelson.

The team also boasts Italian international Gavin Hiscox and former North Queensland Cowboys prospects Carlin Anderson and Michael Bell.

Having last graced the NRL in 2014, Carney has a solid track record, having played over 165 first-grade matches for the Canberra Raiders, Sydney Roosters, and Cronulla Sharks, while also earning caps for Australia and the NSW Blues during the 2012 State of Origin series.

"I am looking forward to it," Carney told NRL.com.

This tournament is shaping up to be a real showcase of talent and experience, with Carney leading the charge.

It's sure to be a thrilling display of skill and determination on the field.
