Controversial bunker calls ruin Canberra Raiders’ perfect record

The Canberra Raiders have been left seething after their spotless record was tarnished by a series of contentious calls from the bunker.

According to reports from news.com.au, the Warriors managed to secure their first victory of the season by defeating the Raiders 18-10 in a showdown in Christchurch.

However, it wasn't without controversy as two key bunker decisions went against the visitors.

The Raiders had the upper hand for a significant portion of the match, dominating between the 20th and 60th minutes.

Despite their strong performance, the Warriors managed to stay in the game thanks to the officials who controversially denied Canberra two tries, much to the joy of the packed crowd.

One of these calls came when young gun Ethan Strange bulldozed his way over the line, appearing to score in the 30th minute.

However, referee Liam Kennedy, who had a rough night on the job, called into question the grounding of the try.

The decision was sent to the bunker for review, but unfortunately for the Raiders, the technology was unable to overturn the on-field ruling, a common occurrence in these tight situations.

In the game of rugby league, every decision counts, and the Raiders will be left wondering what could have been as they reflect on this clash.

But as they say, it's all part of the game, and the team will need to regroup and refocus for their next match.
