Reece Walsh's contract negotiations with the Broncos have prompted former player Corey Parker to advocate for the young fullback to become the highest paid player in the club's history.
The 21-year-old, who played a key role in the Maroons' State of Origin victory, is seeking a significant upgrade on his current $450,000 deal.
With the Broncos having recently secured prop Payne Haas on a record-breaking contract, the pressure is on to find the funds to retain their star players.
Parker emphasized Walsh's value, stating, "If Payne Haas is on $1 million, Walsh has to be on at least $1.1 million.
He should be the highest-paid player at the Broncos." The former player highlighted Walsh's marketability both on and off the field as reasons to justify the substantial pay raise.
As negotiations continue, the rugby league world eagerly awaits the outcome of Walsh's contract dilemma.
