In a perplexing pre-game act that left rugby league legend Andrew Johns scratching his head, U19 NSW halfback Mitchell Woods made a splash on the field before the big game.

As the rising star warmed up alongside the best young talent in the Under-19s State of Origin, the Immortal Johns couldn't help but sing the praises of the talented youngster.

"The young halfback from NSW Mitchell Woods, I have seen him in junior footy - he is an absolute gun," Johns began.

Drawing on his years of experience in the NRL, Johns reminisced about spotting Woods' potential back in the pathways for NSW, where he was a standout player.

"You could see in training," Johns mused, with a hint of nostalgia in his voice.

But just as Johns was about to shift his attention to Queensland's halfback, Coby Black, he was taken aback by Woods' unexpected move - a cheeky spray of water down his pants.

The camera didn't miss a beat, capturing Woods' quirky antics for all to see.

It was a moment that left even the seasoned Johns lost for words.

In the fast-paced world of rugby league, where every move is scrutinized and analyzed, Woods' pre-game stunt certainly made a splash.
