After being accused of not having his coach's back during a rough NRL season, Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has fired back like a champion on the field.

Brisbane Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds has hit back after club legend Gorden Tallis took a shot at the seasoned halfback for not publicly supporting coach Kevin Walters.

The pressure is mounting after last year's NRL grand finalists failed to make the playoffs this season.

The Broncos came so close to victory in last year's grand final against Penrith, but now they have to regroup after being humiliated by the Dolphins in their crucial match of the season.

"I fully back Kevvy," Reynolds stated confidently, showing his unwavering support for his coach amidst the criticism.

Much of the attention has been on Walters as the Broncos have missed the finals in three of the four years of his coaching tenure, but Tallis, who knows Walters well from their playing days, singled out Reynolds instead.

"I'm pointing the finger at Adam Reynolds," Tallis asserted on Triple M's Sin Bin program, adding fuel to the fiery debate surrounding the Broncos' disappointing season.
